Warburtons is the UK’s number one bread brand and fifth largest grocery brand, with £741 million in annual turnover, nearly 5,000 employees, and fresh product delivered to around 18,500 stores every morning. Their gluten-free division — produced at a dedicated facility in Newburn since 2011 — is the UK’s number one gluten-free bakery brand, and the business is now doubling the size of that facility to meet growing demand. We built and continue to operate the technology and operational layer that powers their gluten-free direct sales channel.

Custom E-commerce Platform
We built the e-commerce site for Warburtons’ gluten-free division on our own custom e-commerce framework, serving two distinct buyer types through a single platform. Individual subscribers can set up recurring orders for their household, while B2B buyers — businesses ordering gluten-free products in bulk — have the tooling they need to manage larger, more frequent purchases. Payments are handled through Stripe, integrated directly into the checkout and subscription flows.

iOS & Android Apps
We developed and maintain the Warburtons Gluten Free mobile apps for iOS and Android. The apps give customers a native mobile experience for browsing and ordering from the gluten-free range — with the same support for individual subscriptions and B2B ordering as the web platform. Maintaining parity across web and mobile ensures customers can manage their orders however they prefer.

DPD Logistics Integration & Order Operations
Our team manages the operational layer between the platform and fulfilment. Orders placed through the website and apps are pushed to DPD, with our team assisting in the day-to-day running of that process — handling exceptions, monitoring fulfilment health, and ensuring orders move through reliably. This operational involvement means the Warburtons team can focus on the business while the fulfilment pipeline runs smoothly.

Email Marketing Campaign Operations
We work alongside the Warburtons gluten-free team to support the operations of their email marketing campaigns — helping plan, execute, and monitor communications to their subscriber base. This is an ongoing operational relationship, not just a technical integration, with our team providing hands-on support for campaigns that directly drive orders through the direct channel.

Business Intelligence Dashboard
We built a comprehensive dashboard that gives the Warburtons gluten-free team a live view of their direct channel business. It surfaces the order mix, the response to campaigns and how those campaigns translate into orders, the split between individual subscribers and trade buyers, who the significant trade buyers are, and what they are ordering. Together, these views support demand forecasting and commercial planning — making the dashboard a tool the team uses to run the business, not just monitor it.
